Randomised Testing

Before reading this guide, you should be comfortable with creating and deploying tests in Yorkshare: consult the ELDT Guide "Creating Tests in a Nutshell".



It is possible to display an entire test in random order using the Randomize Questions test setting. This guide describes the separate process of creating of a randomised Question Set.

Tip

Description and Instruction fields both appear to instructors when using the pool, but never to students. They are functionally identical.

A Question Set is used to display one randomly selected question from a larger pre-defined collection of questions to students. This question is randomly selected each time the test is viewed.

This is a two-step process: you first create a question Pool , then create a Question Set.

Creating a Pool of Questions

Deploying the Question Pool in Your Test

The following steps take place from within the Edit Test screen. They can be completed when your test is created, or later when editing the test:
